I chose to showcase these projects for my portfolio as I feel they showcase the person I am and the teacher I hope to be.
Educational Influences Project
Here is a link to my Educational influences. This was an eye opening assignment for me to work on. I had to look beyond my surface level experiences throughout my educational career and find moments that were impactful and life changing. For me, I didnt have to dig too deep ; however I knew I needed to really consider how these moments shaped me into the person I am today, and the teacher I plan to be in the future.

Pellquqwelle- sense of place project
This project was very close to my heart. Pellquqwelle is a location in Kamloops that I have explored numerous times on my own, with my family, with my photography clients and with classes I have worked in. This is one of my favourite places to go with a class on a field trip. The area has so much space to explore, rich history and endless opportunities for placed based education.
This ground These Feet
This was a project that I completed for an Anthropology Course, that was based on Truth and Reconciliation. It was imperative to reflect and recognize how I have experienced privilege and how it has shaped me as person. As I become a teacher I feel this assignment will play an important role in understanding my place, and how I can better myself as an ally. I want my students to feel safe and heard, this assignment helped me learn how to be able to do that for my future students.
Hearing Truths
Hearing Truths was another assignment in my Truth and Reconciliation Course. This assignment was to read books written by Indigenous authors. I knew taking this course that I wanted to be a teacher in elementary school so I chose to do the assignment on three children’s books that I will one day use in my classroom.
